            <p id="isPasted"><strong>Join Us in Shaping the Future of Pharmacy Education</strong></p><p><strong>Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences</strong></p><p><strong>School of Science and the Environment, University of Worcester</strong></p><p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p><p>The University of Worcester is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Teaching and Research) to play a leading role in the development of its new MPharm programme and the continued growth of its new Pharmacy School.</p><p>This is a rare opportunity for a senior academic to shape the scientific foundation of a contemporary pharmacy curriculum, while also helping to establish and lead research activity in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical sciences within an ambitious and supportive academic environment.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>As Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences, you will:</p><ul><li>Provide <strong>strategic leadership for the scientific curriculum</strong> of the MPharm programme, with specific responsibility for pharmaceutics and its integration with pharmacology, chemistry, and microbiology</li><li>Lead the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of science modules across all years of the MPharm, in line with <strong>GPhC Initial Education and Training Standards</strong></li><li>Deliver high‑quality, research‑informed teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate levels</li><li>Play a key role in <strong>GPhC accreditation activity</strong>, working closely with academic and clinical colleagues</li><li>Maintain and develop an <strong>active research profile</strong> with outputs of REF‑appropriate quality</li><li>Provide <strong>research leadership in pharmaceutical sciences</strong>, contributing to funding applications, doctoral supervision, and the development of a sustainable research culture</li><li>Contribute to the wider academic leadership and strategic development of the Pharmacy School and the University</li></ul><p>This is a <strong>teaching and research contract</strong>, with clear expectations and support for excellence in both domains.</p><p><strong>The Person</strong></p><p>You will be an established academic who brings:</p><ul><li>A PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline</li><li>Extensive experience teaching pharmaceutics or pharmaceutical sciences in higher education</li><li>Proven leadership in <strong>curriculum design and delivery</strong> for MPharm or equivalent professional programmes</li><li>A strong understanding of <strong>GPhC standards</strong> and their implications for science education</li><li>A <strong>credible and active research profile</strong>, with publications suitable for REF and evidence of research leadership or emerging leadership</li><li>Experience of supervising postgraduate research students</li><li>Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Senior or Principal Fellowship desirable)</li><li>A collaborative, inclusive, and forward‑looking approach to academic leadership</li></ul><p>Registration as a pharmacist with the GPhC is welcomed but not essential.</p><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><ul><li>Be part of a <strong>new and developing Pharmacy School</strong>, with genuine opportunities to shape direction and culture</li><li>Work within a supportive university known for <strong>high</strong><strong>‑quality teaching, student experience, and professional education</strong></li><li>Join our exciting research culture and be part of our ongoing research developments, with opportunities to work with our inter-disciplinary research groups, units or centre.</li><li>Contribute to a programme with strong institutional commitment and strategic importance</li><li>Benefit from encouragement and support for <strong>research development, leadership, and career progression</strong></li></ul><p><strong id="isPasted">Please note that if not already an employee of the University of Worcester, the appointed candidate will be employed through our subsidiary company Uniworc Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of University of Worcester.
