Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Teaching) Transitions in Medical Education

This is a part-time 0.6fte Lecturer/Senior Lecturer post designed to bridge the gap students experience between theory and professional practice. You will facilitate students' successful transition into clinical environments and the processes associated with GMC registration. This post has been approved as full time and so it is envisaged that you will collaborate and share responsibilities with an already appointed 0.4fte.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering learning that prepares students for the responsibilities of senior clinical placements and Foundation Year (FY) training.
  • Developing processes to support and remediate student professionalism, ensuring graduates meet GMC standards.
  • Leading the complex pre-registration process for PA and medical students, facilitating the transfer of information to the UK Foundation Programme, as appropriate.

You will be a proven leader with the ability to influence stakeholders and a deep commitment to supporting the student experience. You possess the expertise to motivate students and the organizational skill to navigate GMC accreditation requirements.

What's in it for you?

  • Annual incremental increase up to £56,535 for Senior Lecturers and up to £43,482 for Lecturers, pro rata for part time hours
  • Appointment on a clinical lecturer/clinical academic contract may be considered for appropriate applicants.
  • 47 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) pro rata
  • Access to a range of benefits such as our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme and Tusker Car Leasing
  • Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • In-house training and development support
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment
