Senior Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader / Principal Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader in Diagnostic Radiography

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer to join our growing academic team in the School of Health & Wellbeing at the University of Worcester. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the future of our BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography programme as Course Leader.

Depending on skills and experience, the successful candidate will be appointed as either a Senior Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader or a Principal Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader. At Principal Lecturer level, the postholder will also provide academic leadership to the Diagnostic Radiography team and wider department of Allied Health.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography course, including day-to-day operations and quality assurance.
  • Design, deliver and assess high-quality, innovative teaching and learning materials, including blended learning approaches.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and contribute to assessment processes.
  • Act as Personal Academic Tutor and support student development.
  • Engage with recruitment and selection activities.
  • Undertake academic administrative responsibilities and contribute to School and University committees.
  • Participate in scholarly activity, CPD, and professional development.
  • Promote inter-professional learning and collaboration across the School.
  • Ensure inclusive, sustainable, and safe teaching practices.

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who is passionate about Diagnostic Radiography education. You will have a strong understanding of the current healthcare landscape, including the integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence, and be committed to preparing students for modern clinical practice.

You should possess:

  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Relevant experience in teaching and course management in higher education (for appointment as Principal Lecturer, this will include significant leadership experience)
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject (a doctoral qualification is desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a collaborative and student-centred approach

  • Annual incremental increase for Senior Lecturer up to £54,395, with the opportunity to progress to £59,422 and for Principal Lecturer £64,914, with the opportunity to progress to £68,857 subject to performance and the university reward scheme

From 1st July 2025, the salary range for this role will increase for Senior Lecturer to £44,128 - £55,755 (with the opportunity to progress to £60,907) and for Principal Lecturer £57,422 - £66,537 (with the opportunity to progress to £70,579) subject to performance and the university reward scheme.
