Head of Institute of Arts and Humanities

This is an exciting time to join the University of Worcester. The Institute of Arts and Humanities is newly formed, bringing the former School of Arts and The School of Humanities together, to create one innovative new institute. The institute embraces cross-disciplinary working with a portfolio of joint honours courses as well as multi-disciplinary research groups and the University of Worcester’s growing School of Law.

The University is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Institute to lead a dedicated and highly successful team. This is an opportunity to develop a new vision for the institute, with a focus on creating enhanced opportunities for students and staff and to grow external partnerships in the region focussing on law professionals and arts and culture communities.

Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor for Education, Culture, and Society, the Head of the Institute of Arts and Humanities will provide strong, creative, and effective academic and professional leadership and management. This role involves ensuring excellence in learning and teaching, research and scholarship, partnership working, and innovation.

As a member of the University Leadership Group, Head of School Group, and the College of Education, Culture, and Society Executive, the Head will also contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of the wider University.
