            <p id="isPasted">The University of Worcester is seeking a pro-active, customer focused Operations Manager to join its Estates Services Team. We are seeking an individual who can support multiple streams of work, who can work with initiative, demonstrate a keen eye for detail, with the technical knowledge and &nbsp;experience of managing a diverse estate comprising of more than 50 buildings. &nbsp;The role holder will oversee the maintenance function and will be responsible for ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is carried out. &nbsp;</p><p>With management responsibility for a team of tradespeople, maintenance operatives, and contractors you will need to be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. &nbsp;You will be able to demonstrate considerable operational management experience within a complex Estates environment with a proven ability to develop and maintain high quality, safe and efficient buildings. &nbsp;You will have experience of developing and implementing formal maintenance plans with experience of ensuring sustainability is embedded into day-to-day operations. &nbsp;You will also be passionate about customer service and have an understanding of managing contracts within an estates function.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Annual incremental increase up to &pound;56,535 with the opportunity to progress to &pound;61,759 subject to performance and the university reward scheme&nbsp;</li><li>42 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) &nbsp;</li><li>Access to a range of benefits such as our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme and Tusker Car Leasing&nbsp;</li><li>Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme&nbsp;</li><li>In-house training and development support&nbsp;</li><li>A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Informal queries in relation to this vacancy are welcome and should be addressed to Director of Capital Developments and Campus Infrastructure Mark Evans &nbsp;<a href="mailto:m.evans@worc.ac.uk">m.evans@worc.ac.uk</a></p><p><br><strong>Please note that if not already an employee of the University of Worcester, the appointed candidate will be employed through our subsidiary company Uniworc Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of University of Worcester.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>Overview</strong><br>&nbsp;Over the summer period, the Facilities department will be welcoming a high number of conference guests to the University. These bookings will vary from International Summer School&rsquo;s visiting Worcester to groups booking Conference Events using the University&rsquo;s facilities. This increase in demand creates several opportunities for Students who are looking to gain work experience, becoming part of an additional summer team which plays a key role in supporting the smooth running of the university and contributing to several areas of operational support.</p><p><strong>This role will require the post holders to be highly motivated and flexible when meeting the business needs across 7 days a week and have availability to work over the summer period between June and September 2026.&nbsp;</strong>This type of paid work is an ideal way for individuals to enhance their CV. Training and support is provided where appropriate. Evening and weekend work will be required, and some activities may require an appropriate level of physical fitness.</p><p><strong>Background</strong><br>&nbsp;The Facilities Department covers a wide range of services within University of Worcester, including Accommodation, Conferencing, Reception, Estates, Commercial bookings and Catering, Security Operations, which includes Cleaning, Campus Service, Grounds &amp; Security. This role specifically relates to the Estates team.&nbsp;</p><p>This role will provide operational support to the Estates department to support the ongoing maintenance and compliance of the University Estate. An example of such duties may be: &nbsp;</p><ul type="disc"><li>Carry out regular flushing of little used water outlets such as taps and showers.&nbsp;</li><li>Recording of flushing tasks.</li><li>Taking and recording of water temperatures across the estate.</li><li>Supporting the maintenance team in regular servicing across the summer period. &nbsp;</li></ul><p>Your place of work will be the University of Worcester. You will be required to work at premises which the University currently has or may subsequently acquire or any premises at which it may from time to time provide services. The university has various sites around Worcester.
