            <p id="isPasted"><strong>Are you passionate about outdoor activities, developing others, and creating outstanding experiences for students, staff, and community users? We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Outdoor Activity Supervisor&nbsp;to join our Lakeside Campus team on a maternity cover contract.</strong></p><p><strong>This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic outdoor learning and adventure environment, supporting land‑, water‑ and aerial‑based activities while contributing to the growth of an inclusive, vibrant campus community.</strong></p><p><strong><u>About the Role</u></strong></p><p><strong>As an Outdoor Activity Supervisor, you will play a key role in the safe, effective and inspiring operation of our outdoor activity facilities, including the aerial tower, water bodies, and extensive activity zones. You will:</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>Supervise and support the delivery of our outdoor multi‑activity programmes.</li><li>Lead on either staff training and deployment, equipment and maintenance or activity systems and risk management.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare and deliver the annual training plan for part‑time instructors and maintain up‑to‑date competence records.</li><li>Coordinate, record and undertake statutory inspections, equipment testing, risk assessments and safety documentation.</li><li>Mentor students undertaking placements and help enhance their employability.</li><li>Support commercial bookings, events, and community engagement initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to a positive, collaborative working culture across Lakeside and the wider University.</li></ul><p><strong>This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an outdoor environment, enjoys developing people, and can work calmly and confidently under pressure.</strong></p><p><strong><u>What We&rsquo;re Looking For</u></strong></p><p><strong>We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>A relevant outdoor activity or qualification/degree and at least three years&rsquo; of similar industry experience.</li><li>Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage daily operations, events and staffing rotas efficiently.</li><li>Experience supervising activity staff or facilitators in a safe, structured environment.</li><li>Applied knowledge of Health &amp; Safety, safeguarding, risk management and industry compliance.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Confidence responding to incidents, emergencies, and operational challenges.</li><li>Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft systems and digital booking/rota tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable attributes include higher‑level outdoor qualifications, a clean driving licence, and/or additional H&amp;S certifications.</strong></p><p><strong><u>Why Join Us?</u></strong></p><p><strong>This role offers the chance to make a genuine impact on student development and community engagement within a supportive team that values professionalism, collaboration and high‑quality outdoor experiences.
