Technical Instructor x3

Join our innovative Clinical Skills and Simulation Team!

The College of Health and Science brings together a diverse range of healthcare disciplines, including Nursing, Midwifery, Social Care, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Physician Associate, Diagnostic Radiography, and Dietetics. At the University of Worcester, we are committed to advancing healthcare education through innovative, simulation-based training. Our mission is to strengthen clinical skills and enhance simulation-based learning to improve patient outcomes by delivering high-quality, authentic educational experiences. In addition, we provide technical instructor support for healthcare courses delivered at our Dudley campus, ensuring consistency and excellence across all learning environments.

We have 3 exciting opportunities for dynamic and enthusiastic Technical Instructors to join our Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician Team in the areas of Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Paramedicine. These positions are perfect for newly qualified paramedics or nurses seeking to transition into an educational environment. Successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering clinical skills and simulation-based training, maintaining high-quality simulation equipment, and supporting learners as they develop essential clinical competencies.

As a key member of our team, you will deliver exceptional technical support to both internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with academic staff and fellow technicians, you’ll plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate engaging clinical and professional skills sessions, as well as simulation-based activities across a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate health and social care courses.

Your responsibilities will include demonstrating and maintaining specialist equipment, ensuring everything is in optimal condition for teaching and learning. In addition, you’ll provide a comprehensive programme of skills instruction that empowers learners to develop confidence and competence in real-world clinical practice.

If you’re enthusiastic, eager to share your expertise, and ready to take your career in a new direction, this is your chance to join a forward-thinking team dedicated to improving patient care through education.

What’s in it for you?

  • Annual incremental increase up to £37,174, with the opportunity to progress to £40,497 subject to performance and the university reward scheme
  • Up to 36 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) rising to 41 total days after 5 years’ continuous service
  • Access to a range of benefits including our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • In-house training and development support
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment
